Allison Gribbin
Excited to rejoin Old Port Specialty Tile after a decade hiatus, I bring a unique blend of childhood creativity from Maine’s woods to art and architecture in the city. Although my journey started with architecture in Boston, I returned home furnished with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Media Arts and worked in the freelance world while also doing long shifts in healthcare. Following the height of the pandemic I made a commitment to myself to leave healthcare and find my place in the design world full time.
Having initially joined Old Port Specialty Tile during my educational journey in 2012, I found my original niche working the front desk, handling purchases and shipments, and maintaining the showroom. It was here that my passion for tile, home construction discussions, and the prospect of reconnecting with this dynamic field blossomed. Now, returning to work with tile as my medium, I am eager to merge my architectural background, channeling it into creating visually captivating designs with a keen emphasis on spatial relationships.
When I am not in the showroom, you can find me by the ocean, feasting at the newest restaurants in town, on a fancy cocktail hunt, or listening to some live music with friends.
