Now Hiring: Assistant Project Manager

Old Port Specialty Tile is seeking a self-motivated, professional and organized Assistant  Project Manager for full time, long-term position. The position contributes to the success and  productivity of our small team. This position will work closely with our staff Project Managers  in providing exceptional customer service, project estimating, and project managing.

High level  of detail orientation, motivational drive, ability to problem-solve, and ability to work  independently as well as part of a team, are all a must for this position. A good sense of design  and creativity is helpful as you will be working alongside the interior design community.  

Hours

This position is on a two-week revolving schedule:  

Week #1 – Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Saturday 9:30 – 3:00pm
Week #2 – Monday – Thursday 8:30am -5:00pm  

Estimating & Project Managing responsibilities  

  • Calculates product quantities from design sketches, plans and job site  measurements. 
  • Calculates wholesale and retail pricing for product.
  • Acquires freight quotes for shipping of product from vendor to warehouse  and/or customer.
  • Takes measurements at job sites on projects where installation is provided.
  • Calculates quantities of installation materials needed.
  • Coordinates pricing of labor with installation contractor.
  • Produces a detailed estimate to be presented to the customer.
  • Assists in communication between vendors and installers with project  manager throughout the entire job process


General Customer Service responsibilities 

  • Works with customers on selections & estimating for small cash & carry  sales. 
  • Assists in greeting and assisting walk-in customers.
  • Provides general information about tile, stone and glass to clients.
  • Refers customers to the Project Managers and sets up appointments as  required


*Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft outlook is required as well as the  ability to pick up new software systems quickly. Experience in Flooring or Construction  is preferred but not required.

Grand Opening Celebration

After a year of planning, months of construction, and days of moving, it was time to celebrate. The Old Port Specialty Tile Team welcomed designers, architects, trades, customers and fellow team members to our new showroom in the Mason Block building at 62 India St. The evening was filled with laughs, stories, friendly faces and fantastic food.

 

We have so many people to thank for making all of this possible. A heartfelt thank you to all who helped make our dream a vision and all who turned out to support us on our special evening. Thank you to Bill Lee for story telling the event through his lenses. And a special thank you to our wonderful India Street Neighborhood! Micucci Grocery, Two Fat Cats, Foodworks, and Coffee By Design, your goods and beautiful displays, they were the perfect pairings for our event.

You’ll find inspiration in the many beautiful products that surround you. This space was created by the joint efforts of our entire company.
In addition to the beautiful tile inspirations installed throughout the space by our talented installers, you will also see the stunning marble look epoxy floors created by Capozza Concrete Services, as well as some chic plaid style carpet in our workspaces from Capozza Tile & Floor Covering Center. We worked hard to create a beautiful environment that is collaborative, unique and inspirational for clients and staff members alike. We can’t wait for your visit and hope you will enjoy our new showroom as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.

Over the years Capozza has partnered with The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, Maine Children’s Cancer Program, Strive, Woodford’s Family Services,  and The Center for Grieving Children in a continued commitment to strengthen all family units our community.  We are proud to add Winter Kid’s to our roster of amazing foundations that share our mission and vision. Capozza Tile & Floor Wins 2017 Maine Family Business Award For Large Business

The Institute for Family Owned Business held their 17th annual business awards last night.  This awards ceremony recognizes the best in small and large family owned business in Maine in seven different categories ranging from most environmentally conscious, commitment to philanthropy, innovation, and overall best small and large business in Maine.  Overall there were a record breaking 166 nominations, of which 52 were selected as semi-finalists, and 20 finalists.

Last night Capozza Tile & Floor Covering Center, which encompasses Old Port Specialty Tile Co. and Capozza Concrete Services, was privileged to accept the 2017 Maine Family Business Award for Large Business.  This award honors an outstanding company with more than 25 employees that demonstrates excellence in all facets of business, including family involvement, succession planning, communication, value of being family owned, and community service.  This is a huge honor to be nominated for this award, let alone win.  The family accepted this award last night as a team unit. Having the Capozza brand recognized as a leader in the field of family owned business is the outcome of our entire staff’s hard work, compassion and dedication to our company, trade, and community and we only achieved it by being a team.
