I came to Old Port Specialty tile in January 2018 as a Showroom/Sales Assistant, since then I have moved into a Project Manager/Sales position, which has really allowed me to use my creativity and design skills. AS Long as I can remember I have had a passion for art and design. This led me to attend Savannah College of Art and Design. After my Fresh man year there, I took some time off before finishing at University of Southern Maine with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, concentration in ceramics with a minor in photography. While attending school, I found my interest in tile between my internship at a tile store and the direction of my personal artwork. My work background has been in the food industry and landscaping, so I was excited to start this new endeavor where I am able to put my creativity and degree to use. This has allowed me to have a smooth natural transition into this new field. Working here has been a great experience and has allowed me to expand my knowledge within the industry and to be creative. I am excited to continue gaining experience and to see where this journey leads me. Whether it is full hands on or just to guide clients in the right direction, one of my greatest joys is working closely with the client to create their vision.
When I am not at Old Port Specialty Tile, I am working on my ceramics, photography and woodworking. I also enjoy the local arts, food and craft beer scene. I get a lot of my inspiration for design and artwork from nature, so I like to spend a lot time outdoors hiking and camping no matter the time of year.
“Movement, change, light, growth, and decay are the life-blood of nature, the energies that I try to tap through my work.“ – Andy Goldsworthy
