I came to Old Port Specialty tile in January 2018 as a showroom assistant. As long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for art and design. This lead me to attend school at Savannah college of Art and Design , where I started and then finishing at University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, concentration in ceramics and a minor in photography. While in school, I found my interest in tile between my internship at another tile company and through the direction of my personal art. Since my work background has been within the food industry and landscaping, I was excited to start this new endeavor where I am able to put my degree to use. My art background and creativity has allowed me to have a smooth transition into this new field. Working here has been a great experience and has allowed me to expand my knowledge within the industry, to be creative and I am excited to continue gaining experience and to see where this journey leads me.
I do a little bit of everything here but you can usually find me out in the showroom working on displays or assisting customers. Whether it is full hands on or just to give them a nudge in the right direction, one of my greatest joys is working closely with customers to create their visions.
When I’m not at work I like to work on my photography, ceramics, painting and woodworking. I also enjoy the outdoors, hiking, camping, which is where I get a lot of inspiration for my art work.
